Happy Holidays

To make this card I used:
Paper: Pretty In Pink, Real Red, Whisper White
Ink: Real Red
Stamps: Four The Holidays, Merry Chritermas
Accessories: sponge, Stampin UP! Markers, Stampin UP! Pastels

wintery scene

I got the idea for this card from here. I used the colours and stamp sets I had on hand. Instead of brayering the background, I sponged Bashful Blue and masked the moon using a 1 3/8" circle cutout of a post it note. I then stamped the trees with Early Espresso.

To make this card I used:
Paper: Bashful Blue, Early Espresso, Whisper White
Ink: Bashful Blue, Early Espresso, Real Red
Stamps: Lovely as a Tree, Four The Holidays, Greeting Card Kids, Merry Chritermas
Accessories: stamp a ma jig, Stampin Up! Markers, 1 3/8" circle punch

Peace on Earth

This card was really easy to make. For the squares, I cut 1 1/4" squares and filled them in with snowflakes from the Delightful Decorations and the Snow Buddies stamp sets. I used my decoration punch to cut out the decoration stamp.

To make this card I used:
Paper: Whisper White, Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler
Ink: Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler
Stamps: Delightful Decorations, Snow Buddies, Four The Holidays
Accessories: decoration punch, corner punch

A Golden Season's Greetings

I saw a similar design on Split Coast Stampers and decided to make this card using the stamp sets I had. The picture really doesn't do it justice, but the gold embossing looks so elegant on paper. I love it. Such a simple yet beautiful card.

To make this card I used: (All Stampin Up!)
Paper: Creamy Caramel, Night Of Navy
Ink: Versamark
Stamps: Lovely As A Tree, Four The Holidays
Accessories: Gold Embossing Powder, Embossing Heat Gun, Corner Ticket Punch

Almost A Milestone

So this is my 99th card I've designed to day. Hard to believe considering I only started stamping in April or May of this year. Today I got my embossing powders and heat gun from Stampin Up! so I couldn't wait to get home tonight and make a card using the heat embossing technique. This card did not turn out the way I had hoped, but it's a learning experience. For some reason, the white embossed greeting had speckles of white and smudged a bit on one side. I don't understand what I did wrong. As well, the blue card stock buckled a bit under the heat and started to warp a bit. I don't know if you can tell or not, but the bottom will NOT stick properly to the white card stock. Again, not sure what I did wrong, but hopefully I'll get better at it as I practice. I heat embossed the cut out of the reindeer with black and coloured it in with markers. ( I wonder why those other reindeer are glaring at Rudolph like that? :P) I then heat embossed the greeting with white.

To make this card I used: (all Stampin Up! products)
Ink: Basic Black, Versamark Ink
Stamps: Four The Holidays, Holiday Lineup
Paper: Whisper White, Night of Navy, Real Red
Accessories: Heat Embossing gun and powder, corner punch, Stampin Up! markers, 1 1/4" circle punch, 1 3/8" circle punch

A Simple Merry Christmas Wish

I am trying out different arrangements for Christmas cards to send to friends and family. I'm stressing out a bit because between school and work, I am worried I will leave it too close to the last minute and not have time to send out cards this year. How nuts would that be if I, the obsessive card making freak, who has spent an obscene amount of money on supplies, didn't send out Christmas Cards? So in between homework, tests and work, I have been trying to get some card making time in. Here is a simple, yet pretty card I have come up with. I found a similar design on Split Coast Stampers but modified it to fit the supplies I had.

To make this card I used:

Stamps: Four The Holidays (SU)
Paper: Whisper White (SU), Garden Green (SU), Real Red (SU)
Ink: Garden Green (SU)
Accessories: Embossing border punch, Scallop Punch (SU), Snowman (Printed from my PC)

Christmas Card 2009

Here is the first of what I'm sure will be many Christmas card designs for 2009. This is the one that I am advertising and selling to friends and co-workers, anyway. I saw this design on Blair's blog but didn't have any of the stamp sets to make it so I improvised. I like how it turned out!

To make this card I used:

Paper: Whisper White (SU), Bashful Blue (SU), Real Red (SU)
Ink: Basic Black (SU), Real Red (SU)
Stamps: Four The Holidays (SU), Polka Dot Punches (SU), Holiday Lineup (SU)
Accessories: scallop punch (SU), corner rounder punch, Stampin Up Markers
