Wedding Invitation

I offered to make the invitations for my brother's wedding. After all, I love making cards. I figured...how much more difficult could making many cards be versus just one? It has proved very time consuming, but I am so happy with the end result.

I took a standard card size stock, folded it in half and then cut off part of the bottom so when it folded up, it would reveal part of the card. I then embossed the bottom part of the card so when it folded up, you could see the embossing. I used my printer to create the "invitation" writing and then stamped, in Gold, the additional embellishments. I finished the card off with strip of paper to hold the card together.

For the envelope, I typed up the addresses on labels. I thought envelope looked a little plain so I stamped a flower in tempting turquoise to match the card. I took one of my markers and filled part of the flower in using Blush Blossom, to match the card as well. I then stamped a sentiment on the back.

To make this card I used:
Paper: Tempting Turquoise, Matte white paper
Ink: Metallic Gold, Tempting Turquoise
Stamps: Wedding Sweet, Monogram Sweet, Embrace Life, Sweet Little Sentiments
Accessories: Embossing folder, Stampin Up Markers

Take Care Of Yourself

This is the first card I've made using the sponging technique for the background. I wasn't properly prepared so my card ended up with mixed results. I didn't have post it notes or anything to hold my paper that I used to make the white border, so it was difficult to sponge and stamp inside the lines. Also, I only had sponge daubers and they didn't really do what I wanted. They sponged in a circle pattern, which really wasn't what I was going for. I'll definitely try this technique again when I have the proper supplies. All in all, though, I like the card. It makes me feel like I'm at the beach.

To make this card I used: (All Stampin Up! supplies)
Paper: Ballet Blue, Whisper White
Ink: Creamy Caramel, Ballet Blue, Bashful Blue, Basic Black
Stamps: Inspired By Nature, Sweet Little Sentiments
Accessories: Sponge Daubers

Welcome Mom and Dad

Here is another example of a welcome card I made. I made this one for my mom and dad. This past summer, they sold their house and bought a new one. I hand wrote a "sold" sign and put it beside one of the houses to represent the house they had just sold and put a "welcome" sign above another house, representing the one they had bought.

To make this card I used: (All Stampin Up! products)
Paper: Tempting Turquoise, Cameo Coral, Whisper White
Ink: Basic Black, Cameo Coral, Garden Green
Stamps: Neighbourhood Jumbo Wheel, Sweet Little Sentiments, Itty Bitty Buds
Accessories: Tempting Turquoise Ribbon, Stampin Up Pastels

Because Nice Matters

I've been using this site called SU Color Combos to find ideas for colour mixing on my cards. I have to admit, I was skeptical that these 3 colours would look good togeter, but they ended up looking great.

To make this card, I used:
Paper: Whisper White (SU), Brilliant Blue (SU), Yoyo Yellow (SU), Glorious Green (SU)
Ink: Brilliant Blue (SU), Basic Black (SU)
Stamps: Sweet Little Sentiments (SU), A Flower For All Seasons (SU)
Accessories: Bold bright brads (SU), Stampin Up Pastels
